Concurrent Session 2.3 - Paediatrics
Please note that this session will run as a workshop.
CHANGES, CHALLENGES, AND OPPORTUNITIES for Health Care Professionals and people with Cerebral Palsy of moving into adulthood with Cerebral Palsy
This will be delivered as a 2.5 hour workshop.
A panel of expert practitioners, allied health professionals, researchers and people with cerebral palsy will present on a range of key areas typically impacted for people with cerebral palsy including: musculoskeletal health, communication, speech and swallowing, mental health, exercise and physical activity, preventative and sexual health, pain, accelerated aging and the transition from paediatric to adult health care systems.
This workshop will focus on health care, vocational and avocational issues arising for adults with CP, and as such will be of interest to a range of health professionals and care providers working with adults who have childhood onset disability.
We also welcome persons with CP and their families to attend and contribute to the workshop which concludes with a panel discussion and case scenarios.
