Mr Alan Howe
Alan Howe is executive editor and columnist with Melbourne’s Herald Sun newspaper. He was born in Farnborough, Hampshire, to Royal Air Force parents, but is proudly an Australian. The Queen has been fortunate enough to meet him twice.
He became an Australian citizen on Australia Day in 2002.In 1994 he wrote to then Premier Jeff Kennett to recommend we build an Immigration Museum. It opened in November 1998 and he served on its board until it was subsumed by the Melbourne Museum 10 years later.
He is also on the board of the People And Parks Foundation and on the board of the Victorian Australia Day Committee.
