To download the app please search The Event App by EventsAir in your smartphone or tablet app store. Once The Event App is opened, please type aps2022 into the search by event name bar. The PIN has been emailed to you. If you do not know the PIN please contact the Conference Secretariat, or see the registration desk for assistance.
While we are very excited to finally be connecting in person again, we want to remind all delegates that some parts of the conference will look a little different than the last time we met face to face.
The Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart (HGC) will adhere to current social distancing protocols, provide regular cleaning and sanitising in public areas and make hand sanitiser available throughout the venue.
We strongly encourage all delegates to wear masks throughout the conference. Additional masks are available from the registration desk if you forget yours.
If you become unwell during your time in Hobart, please do not attend the conference.

Registration Desk
The conference registration desk is located on the Mezzanine Level of the HGC adjacent to the Federation Ballroom entrance.

Admission to all sessions on the day of your registration, access to the conference app, attendance e-certificate and morning/afternoon teas and lunch on the day of your registration. The exhibition will open for the first time on Sunday from 6.00 pm – 7.30 pm, for the Welcome Reception.

Boxed lunch will be available for delegates to take with them, from the Lobby Foyer, at the close of the conference.
Dietary Requirements
If you have not already done so, please advise the Conference Secretariat of any specific dietary requirements and/or food allergies. If you have advised of a special dietary request, please make yourself known to banqueting staff at the HGC in order to collect your special meal. Vegetarians will be catered for within the standard catering package.
Parking
If you are driving to the HGC they provide valet and self-parking options. Please note, clearance is 1.9 metres. Please click here for more information.
From Hobart Airport
Hobart Airport is 15 kilometres from the CBD. A taxi will cost approx. $40 - $50, allow 20 minutes to the HGC by taxi.
Alternatively, the SkyBus provides fast and low cost airport transfers departing every 30 minutes daily. The closest stop to the HGC is outside The Old Woolstore Apartments, Macquarie Street – just behind the HGC. Tickets are available online through the SkyBus website.
Name Badges
All delegates are provided with a name badge included in the registration pack. Delegates are required to wear their name badges for the entire conference; they are your official pass to sessions and meal breaks.
Speaker Preparation Room
Located in Chancellor 4, the Speaker Preparation Room will be open from 7.00 am on Sunday 10 April 2022 until 1.00 pm on Wednesday 13 April 2022. All presenters must visit the Speaker Preparation Room at least 2 hours prior to the start of their session time.
Presentations must be brought on either USB or memory stick. Speakers wishing to use their own laptop for their presentation are still required to visit the Speaker Preparation Room.
Poster Display
The poster display will be located within Federation Ballroom.
Posters should be in place by 10.15 am on Monday 11 April 2022 and will be displayed for the duration of the conference. Posters must be printed in A0 portrait, presenters are asked to bring their own ‘hook and loop’ velcro to affix their posters to the display wall.
Authors who had their posters printed through Snap Hobart can collect their posters from the registration desk from Sunday morning. It is the author’s responsibility to collect and display their own poster/s.
Digital versions of the posters are included in the APS 2022 conference app, alongside a copy of the poster authors abstract.
Poster presenters will be standing by their hard copy poster to answer any questions during the poster viewing sessions. Details are as follows:
CPD Points/Certificates of Attendance
All delegates attending a pre-conference workshop and/or the APS conference will receive an e-certificate of attendance. The certificates will be emailed to all delegates shortly after the conference; no hard copies will be available. Please contact the Conference Secretariat if you need to update your email address.
The attendance certificate will note the number of educational hours completed. You will need this certificate to apply for CPD accreditation points through your chosen college. We recommend delegates self-record as colleges differ on their professional development point systems.
Conference Feedback
You will be emailed a link to the evaluation at the conclusion of the conference; your participation would be appreciated. Feedback is important to ensure changes and improvements are made to future conferences.
Delegates who complete the evaluation can go into the running to win a complimentary registration to the Australian Pain Society 43rd Annual Scientific Meeting.
