DAYS TO GO
The Perth organising committee of the Australian Pain Society 36th Annual Scientific Meeting invites you to join us in our dynamic city for "Pain: Meeting the Challenge".
The scientific program committee has developed an engaging program with exceptional international speakers. including Professor Frank Birklein from the University Medical Centre Mainz, Germany (mechanisms of neuropathic pain, particularly CRPS, and immune system contribution to posttraumatic pain); Assistant Professor Petra Schweinhardt from the McGill University, Canada (cerebral mechanisms of pain and pain modulation using neuropsychopharmacological and brain imaging techniques); Professor Barry Sessle from the University of Toronto, Canada (mechanisms of orofacial pain) and Professor David Yarnitsky from the Rambam Health Care Campus, and the Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory in the Technion Faculty of Medicine, Israel (conditioned pain modulation mechanisms, and implementation in pain therapy).
Our venue, the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, is located on the northern bank of the Swan River, in the land of the traditional owners the Noongar people. Hosted in the CBD on the banks of the Swan River, delegates will get a taste of the local features of the city, as well as an opportunity to network with colleagues. The Swan River and Kings Park are within easy walking distance of the venue, and city bars are close by. Adding to the experience will be a lively social program not to be missed.
Perth is an energetic city that offers a unique Western Australian experience with a vibrant city culture and unique, stunning beaches and parklands. Perth is renowned for its beautiful climate, inviting a relaxed outdoor lifestyle. Rottnest Island is a short ferry ride away, and is ideal for swimming, snorkelling, fishing and relaxing. For those who enjoy wine, the Swan Valley, Western Australia’s oldest wine growing region, is a short drive.
We look forward to sharing the Conference and Perth with you in 2016.
