Overview:

This highly interactive workshop is for health professionals who want to explore innovative approaches to system improvement. We will cover methods to facilitate confidence in creative idea generation, translation of these ideas into reality and an iterative approach to continuous improvement. The techniques are evidence-based approaches which are well known in the business and creative industries sectors. We will ensure the workshop is relevant by:

  • Assessing problems/priorities of attendees via a pre-workshop survey
  • Creating clinical scenarios familiar to attendees
  • Having a dedicated online location for post-workshop information and discussion

Speakers:

Dr Gaj Panagoda is a paediatric rehabilitation specialist, with an interest in innovative health system improvement. He is a co-founder of XStitch Health, which explores ways to link medical specialists with capacity building projects in the community.

Dr Judy Matthews is a facilitator and academic engaged in research and teaching in complex problem solving and innovation. Her research and practice with a human-centred approach to problem solving is applicable in all contexts where better solutions and more desirable futures are needed.
