DAYS TO GO

Welcome

On behalf of the Local Organising Committee, it is my very great pleasure to invite you to join us in Adelaide from 9 – 12 April, 2017 for the 37th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australian Pain Society. With an overriding theme of "Expanding Horizons"the conference will provide an extensive program including pre-conference workshops, international keynote speakers, national speakers and topical sessions.

From an international perspective, we have been fortunate enough to secure three impressive speakers: Professor Stephen Hunt from University College, London, Professor Judith Turner from the University of Washington and Dr Sean Mackey from Stanford University.  Their combined knowledge spans molecular biology, neural plasticity, psychological therapies, body-behaviour-environment links, issues associated with opioid therapy and contemporary approaches to outcome assessment (just to name a few areas).  They will be joined by a range of local and national speakers who will provide a diverse look at all things pain related.

You’ll be surrounded by some of the best wine regions in the world (McLaren Vale, Barossa, Adelaide Hills, Clare Valley), stunning beaches, tranquil walk and bike tracks, vibrant café’s, eclectic restaurants, and a thriving small bar precinct that is making the inner-city pop!  And if that hasn’t won you over, don’t forget - Adelaide is home to some of Australia’s most iconic brands and, for the more adventurous amongst us, is now also the home of Australia’s first ever aerial park!  In fact, there’s so much to see and do here that you might want to stay a little longer just so that you can really enjoy all that our wonderful city has to offer.

We’re really looking forward to welcoming you to our wonderful city in 2017 and sharing this exciting program with you. See you then!
