Welcome Reception - Utzon Room, Sydney Opera House

Collect your name badge between 03.00 pm - 04.30 pm at the registration desk, located in the main lobby of the Amora Jamison Hotel and head down to the Sydney Opera House's iconic Utzon Room for the Welcome Reception and start of the 2012 Conference. This casual start to the conference with welcome drinks and canapés is the perfect chance for delegates to mingle with friends and colleagues.

This stunning venue is the first interior designed by architect Jørn Utzon, who was the original architect for Sydney Opera House. This dramatic new venue has Utzon’s signature features of natural timbers and finishes, and a specially designed 14-metre wide floor-to-ceiling, brightly coloured woollen tapestry – Utzon’s first decorative artwork.

Old Coroners Court Tour, Craft NSW, 104 George Street, The Rocks

A tour has been organised for all delegates and accompanying people of the Old Coroners Court, to take place before the Gala Dinner. The building was built in 1854 as a Morgue and later demolished in 1906. In 1907 the present Coroner's Court wasconstructed. It is the earliest surviving Coroner's Court in NSW. The style is Federation Free style and it shows the architect's concern and ability to design for function and Sydney's weather.

Delegates can enjoy an after-hours walk through of this historical building before heading to the Gala Dinner, just a short stroll away.

 

Gala Dinner - Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), Harbourside Room

Date: Thursday 22 November 2012

Time: 7.00pm - 11.30pm

Price: $100 pp

Located on the rooftop of the MCA, the Harbourside Room has floor to ceiling glass doors which open onto a private outdoor terrace. This venue provides uninterrupted views across Sydney Harbour, the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. An exquisite 3 Course dinner will be served along with a fine selection of beverages and there will also be light entertainment provided.

The list of attendees will be displayed in a message board, located adjacent to the registration desk at the Amora Jamison Hotel.
